Going to Komodo Island is not a trip you want to take lightly! You have to pay $400+ for a boat trip for a tour that typically lasts only 3 days. Oh, and did I mention the part where you have to hike through the jungle and get a boat across a river? There is even a hotel you stay at, which is basically just a bunch of tents with a bathroom. Don’t worry though, it is not a hard tour, and the scenery is worth it.
The Pink Beach was one of the most impressive things we saw at Komodo National Park. The beach got its unique color from the Red Tinted Coral Reef below, which was still alive in spite of the fact that we were hundreds of miles away from the ocean. The millions of microscopic algae that lived on it. We were lucky enough to see a few sea turtles, a shark, and a sea snake while we were there.
